Your first visit to Cultura:

Just steps away from the Washington DC/Chevy Chase MD Friendship Height’s shopping district, you will step through Cultura’s front door into our bright and welcoming reception area.  A Patient Concierge will greet you and escort you down the elegantly curved wood hallway to a well-appointed waiting room decorated in serene shades of beige and caramel.

Today, Cultura’s soundtrack may be jazz or another selection chosen for its soothing and relaxing qualities. Water flows gently over smooth river stones into one of the sleek stainless basins available for makeup removal or after-treatment reapplications. Fluffy terry cloth robes hang in adjoining waiting rooms for your convenience.  May we offer you a sip of tea or sparkling water?  As you wait to be called for your Physician consultation you have the options of viewing patient information on the wide screen TV or browsing through carefully selected reading material.   You will then be escorted to a consultation with either Dr. Battle or Dr. Ginn which usually starts with Skin Care 101, a discussion about how the skin works and how it relates to your skin condition or expectations.

As part of your consultation your skin will be assessed by a skin specialist and analyzed by one of Cultura’s computerized imaging systems.  You will be provided with a printed analysis as well as treatment options addressing your concerns and expectations.  In most cases, treatments can be performed on the same day as your initial consultation.  

Computerized Photo-Imaging Analysis - learn about your skin health and true appearance using the most advanced imaging equipment available.  Once you have your initial treatments, then at any follow up visit you can request a complimentary repeat analysis to assist you in judging your skin’s improvement and grading our ability

1.VISIA™ Complexion Analysis – best to evaluate your complexion & superficial concerns (wrinkles, pores, spots, sun damage, evenness of color & amount of bacteria). The system generates quantitative values for these skin features that previously could only be evaluated subjectively. Additionally, the VISIA™ system compares an individual's skin features to that of others of the same sex, age, and ethnicity


2.TruVu™ Anti-aging  Imaging Analysis  - best to evaluate your facial aging concerns (deep creases & wrinkles, laugh lines, skin laxity and volume loss – particularly useful in evaluating the eye area, cheeks and lips.  The system generates quantitative values for these anti-aging features that previously could only be evaluated subjectively.  Additionally, the TruVuTM system allows you to visualize what it would look like if more volume was added (to assist you in your filler decisions) or if the creases or wrinkles were softened.
