Blepharoplasty is a minimally invasive procedure with maximal results. Excess skin and/or fat around your eyes can make you look tired, depressed, and older.
Every year thousands of men and women enjoy a rejuvenated look with this remarkable procedure. And the positive effects can last for up to 15 years. Although some people actually are born with puffy lower eyelids, for most of us it's a sign of aging. As you get older, your eyelid skin stretches, muscles weaken and fat can accumulate around the eyes causing "bags."
Whatever the reason, there is no need to look tired when you don't feel tired.
Eyelid surgery removes fat, excess skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. The best candidates for this surgery generally are men and women 30 years and older.
The Procedure
Before surgery, the surgeon marks the areas where incisions will be made. To minimize scarring, these marks follow the natural lines and creases of the upper and lower eyelids.
Fat, excess skin and muscle may be removed during the procedure and fine sutures make the incision almost invisible. Excess fatty material below the eye is often removed from inside the lower eyelid, avoiding a scar on the skin.
This surgery can be performed in an office-based facility, outpatient surgical center or hospital, usually in one to two hours, depending on the areas being treated.
After Surgery
Postoperative pain is usually mild and relieved with oral medications. You may resume exercise within three weeks. Swelling and bruising will subside in a few weeks; it is important to elevate the head while sleeping. Sutures are removed within the first week of surgery. Within 10 to 14 days, most people return to work or social situations and feel comfortable in public with makeup covering the incision lines. Scars will be either on the inside of your eyelid or hidden in the crease and typically fade very quickly. This procedure averages $2,500 to $2,800, depending upon the extent of surgery and areas treated.
As with any medical procedure, there are certain risks, which should be discussed with a qualified physician.
Cultura accepts cash, check, VISA, MasterCard, and American Express. For your convenience, financing is also available.

How long will I need to take off for work?
Most patients are back to their normal routine within days, although complete recovery may take a few weeks. Wear dark glasses for a few days to hide "black eyes"--this will also help you remember not to touch your eyelids while they're healing. You may experience slightly blurred vision, eye irritation, or dryness for up to a month after surgery. Cultura may recommend eye drops or an ointment to promote healing and relieve discomfort. You'll find that your eyelids heal well because of their rich blood supply, and the scars are hardly visible.

What if I want to improve my eyes, but I want to avoid an, 'operated', look?
Not to worry, we want to avoid that look too. The goal of Blepharoplasty is to remove excess skin and fat around the eyes, to reveal their natural beauty, not to change them.

How much does it cost?
TThis procedure averages $2,500 to $3,000, depending upon the extent of surgery and areas treated.

Will insurance pay for the procedure?
Insurance does not cover purely cosmetic procedures. In some cases, there is so much extra skin over the upper eyelids it decrease the vision. In this situation, your insurance may cover the procedure. .
